Half Day-Accounts: Debtors and Creditors Clerk

Hospitality establishment is seeking a Half Day Accounts Assistant to assist the current Financial Manager.

General Overview: Responsible for the general accounting function: preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the Finance Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance Department.

Duties:
– Accounting of expenses and income
– Prepare journal entries
– Administer account receivables & reconciliations
– Administer accounts payable
– Complete ledger operations
– Monthly closings for accounts receivables and processing cash books
– Ordering of stock based on variances and sale trends, to ensure no stock is unavilable
– Stock take reconciliation and variance reports.
– Preparation of monthly financial statements
– Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
– Draw up monthly financial reports
– Prepare analysis of accounts as requested
– Assist with year-end closings
– Prepare tax computations and returns
– Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts
– Monitor and resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and check differences
– Account/bank reconciliations
– Review and process expense reports
– Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process
– Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures

Requirements:
– Knowledge of Xero Accounting system- not negotiable
– Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
– Knowledge of finance principles
– Knowledge of local laws regarding accounting, finances and taxation
– Technical accounting skills
– Previous experience of general accounting

Salary: R7 500 per month- 25 hours week to start off with
