Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account Manager to join their team, specializing in the Chemical industry with a direct focus on Pulp and Paper. The ideal candidate will possess both "hunter" and "farmer" sales mindsets to grow and maintain key client relationships within the industry. This role will require flexibility to work standby shifts as needed.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Client Management: Cultivate, manage, and expand relationships with key clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met or exceeded.
Sales Growth: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets, using both hunting and farming techniques to acquire new clients while nurturing existing ones.
Technical Support: Collaborate with the technical team to provide clients with technical solutions and support in chemical applications.
Standby Shifts: Be available for standby shifts to address client needs and attend to emergencies.
Market Analysis: Monitor market conditions, competition, and emerging trends to identify opportunities and threats.
Reporting: Provide regular reports on sales activities, market feedback, and client relationships to the management team.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
– Proven track record in sales within the Chemical industry.
– Strong hunting and farming sales skills with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets
– Excellent communication and negotiation skills
– Must have a learning mindset and be willing to develop knowledge within the industry
– Must have the ability to work very closely with clients
– Must be proactive and be able to get your hands dirty
– Ability to work flexible hours, including standby shifts as needed
– Reside in or be willing to relocate to Richards Bay, South Africa
– Self-motivated and results-driven with a passion for the industry
– Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to meet with clients
