I.T Support Specialist

Our Client, based in the North of Durban, is seeking an I.T Sipport Specialist:
 
Knowledge and Compliance:
      • General knowledge of the office environment, equipment and procedures
      • Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or similar role – Min 3 year
      • Proven experience in SharePoint and OneDrive
      • Solid understanding of desktop operating systems, hardware, and software applications.
      • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
      • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
      • Familiarity with remote support tools and methodologies.
      • Must have worked with CCTV
 
Education Requirements:
      • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
      • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) a plus.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
    • Desktop and Workspace Setup:
        • Configure and set up desktop computers and workspaces for new employees.
        • Ensure all hardware components are in optimal working condition.
        • Collaborate with relevant departments to customize workspaces based on specific job requirements.
        • Create and maintain SharePoint and One-Drive Folders
    • Remote Software Support:
        • Provide remote assistance to end-users for software-related issues.
        • Troubleshoot and resolve software problems, escalating complex issues as needed.
        • Install, update, and configure software applications on desktops and laptops.
    • Technical Support:
        • Diagnose and resolve hardware issues, coordinating with vendors for repairs or replacements when necessary.
        • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of hardware and software assets.
        • Conduct regular system checks to identify and address potential issues proactively.
    • Equipment Maintenance:
        • Ensure all equipment is cleaned and maintained by creating and executing a maintenance schedule.
    • User Training:
        • Conduct training sessions for end-users on basic IT procedures and best practices.
        • Create user-friendly guides and documentation for common technical tasks.
    • Collaboration:
        • Collaborate with other departments to understand their specific IT needs and tailor support accordingly.
        • Collaborate with external service providers to ensure all SLA are in place and maintained accurately; and that the company is being properly invoiced.
 
Salary: Up to R20 000 CTC
